MIAMI -- Carlos Lee hit a walk-off single in the ninth to lift the Miami Marlins to a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Lee's one-out single to left-center field came off Josh Lindblom (3-4). Jimmy Rollins hit a two-out RBI single in the eighth inning for the Phillies to tie the game 1-1. Steve Cishek (5-2) pitched the ninth for the win. The Marlins led 1-0 through five innings. The Phillies had the first scoring opportunity of the game in the top of the second. After Ty Wigginton and Darin Ruf reached on one-out singles off Marlins starter Mark Buehrle, John Mayberry struck out. Then, Michael Martinez reached base on a slow roller to second baseman Donovan Solano, but Wigginton over-ran third base and Solano fired to third to get Wigginton and end the inning. Stanton doubled to left in his first at-bat after missing the last nine games with an oblique strain. He gave the Marlins a 1-0 lead with his 35th home run off Phillies starter Cliff Lee in the fourth. Th...

The Phillies playoff run is officially over after losing to the Marlins 2-1 last night. It was another “walk-off” loss for the Phillies their 12th this season, personifying the season. No hitting and poor relief pitching ,a formula in many of the Phillies losses and what needs to be addressed in the off-season.
We all new it was coming but I have to admit it still hurts. From...
If you would have told me back in March that I'd be writing this piece in September, I would have looked at you funny. But, here we are. The Phillies never really clicked this year after winning 102 games last year, and took a step backwards in nearly every facet of the game. Injuries also played a huge role on this team, with pretty much every relevant player aside from franchise...
Tyler Cloyd of the Philadelphia Phillies is their newest rotation member. How do other recent additions in the NL East match up with him? The Apocalyptic Horsemen Stats are in my recent coverage linked below.

Today before the Phillies' loss to the Miami Marlins, Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro met with reporters. They learned that Chase Utley would not play third base before season's end, Scott Franzke reported on the Phillies radio broadcast.
The reason was that there simply was not enough time to determine anything. Going into tonight the Phillies had just six games...
MIAMI -- After a rough start, Roy Halladay finished his final outing of the season on a positive note. Halladay (11-8) allowed four runs, three in the first inning, in five innings to help the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Miami Marlins 9-5 Saturday. "The first inning was obviously pretty sloppy," Halladay said. "I felt like after that it got better, we scored...
"I felt like my head exploded." Adam Greenberg will never forget his first Major League at-bat, his only Major League at-bat. "I lost control of my eyes and thought my head was split open," he said yesterday as he thought back to a moment that should have been one of the best in his life. "I kept saying 'stay alive,' and just repeated that...

The boxing rumor mill is back with another edition, as there has been lots of chatter today concerning some interesting subjects. This includes Timothy Bradley's next fight, slated for December 15 in Miami, as well as a very intriguing clash of unbeaten American heavyweights, Deontay Wilder vs. Bryant Jennings, which has been reportedly turned down by Golden Boy, Wilder'...
Undefeated Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez (22-0, 15 KOs) made a major statement tonight in the main event on HBO Boxing After Dark, punishing a tough, previously unbeaten Jason "Monstruo" Escalera (13-1-1, 12 KOs) until referee Steve Smoger called off the fight at the start of the eighth round, from the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket...

Final: Phillies 1, Marlins 2.
WP: Steve Cishek (5-2, 2.77 ERA) LP: Josh Lindblom (3-4, 3.34 ERA)
A September game consisting of two non-contending teams definitely will draw minimal interest from the media and the respective city's fans. Both teams tonight, with nothing to play far, hardly brought anything to the table.
The Phillies were trailing 1-0 heading into the...
MIAMI -- Chase Utley drove in three runs to help lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-5 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday night. Carlos Ruiz and Pete Orr each drove in two runs, and Jimmy Rollins had three hits and scored twice for the Phillies, who are 79-79 and looking to avoid a losing season for the first time since 2002. Roy Halladay (11-8) struck out seven and allowed...
If this is how the Nationals are going to play in the postseason, then the rest of the National League playoff contenders better watch out. The Phillies fell victim again to the Nats tonight in the final home game of the 2012 season. The Phils may be looking powerful as of late, but they were no match for Morse, Harper, and the rest of the mighty Nats.
Last night, Bryce Harper...
