Florida Marlins second baseman Omar Infante fractured his right middle finger in Thursday's game and likely is headed for the disabled list.
The injury occurred when he was hit on the hand by a ball while diving for a grounder. He was seen by trainers and stayed in the game for two more innings before departing.
"He’s tough to get him out of the game," Marlins manager Jack McKeon told reporters. "It’s tough, but
broken fingers you can get back in a short period of time."
Infante is batting .279 with three homers and 34 RBI.
