Fightin' Marlins:
There’s a new thing in Florida in July and it is calling winning. The Marlins extended their win streak to five as they defeated the Houston Astros 5-4 in wrap up the first half of the season.
The Marlins were not always up though in the game. Down 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Mike Cameron stepped up big time for the Marlins with Mike Stanton on. Cameron belted a home run for his first hit as a Florida Marlin.
Gaby Sanchez and Omar Infante both tacked on extra runs in the fourth to seal the game. Leo Nunez picked up his 25th save of the season as well.
The Marlins are now only five games under .500 despite having a losing streak in June losing 19 of 20 games. Their four game sweep of the Astros is their first since they swept the New York Mets in 2010. With the win, Chris Volstad improved to 5-8 on the year.
