The Miami Marlins have hired Mike Redmond to be their next manager, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Redmond will receive a three-year deal as he will be replacing Ozzie Guillen who was recently fired.
Redmond enjoyed a 13 year playing career where he spent time with the Twins, Indians and Marlins. He was a career .287/.342/.358 while ending his playing career in 2010.
The last two seasons, Redmond spent managing the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League where they posted winning records both seasons.
