Found February 02, 2014 on Pro Sports Daily:
It remains highly doubtful that the Boston Red Sox would entertain the notion of trading third baseman Will Middlebrooks, but if they do, the Miami Marlins apparently want in. Middlebrooks struggled mightily during the 2013 campaign – eventually being demoted to the minor leagues. But the young third baseman rebounded amid trade rumors, though, those whispers still remain. Despite that, the Marlins would likely have to part with slugger Giancarlo Stanton in exchange for Middlebrooks, a deal that is unlikely to happen according to Nick Cafardo: Teams ask about Middlebrooks, but the Red Sox haven’t pulled the trigger, feeling Middlebooks has power and they’d hate to lose that. The Marlins have asked a lot about Middlebrooks, but there’s no clear match unless it’s part of a Giancarlo Stanton deal, which isn’t happening.

Miami Marlins Showing Interest In Middlebrooks

First, it was Jenny Dell. Could her soul-mate be next? Reports are surfacing that the Miami Marlins are "interested" in a deal for Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks. Back before Christmas, FenwayNation reported on a possible trade for Giancarlo Stanton that placed Middlebrooks as the Boston centerpiece (along with a few prospects). At this point, however, it's...

Jenny, Jenny who can I turn to?

Thank you very much, Will Middlebrooks. Once again, Red Sox fans will say goodbye to the team’s “sideline reporter.” From our pal, Chad Finn: Recently, Dell has been filling in as anchor on “NESN Sports Today,” a perfectly viable role but one that according to another industry source is her penance for . . . well, one thing or the other. Dell, the popular in-game reporter...

Should The Boston Red Sox Extend Jon Lester?

In an candid interview held before Boston’s BBWAA dinner, Red Sox starter Jon Lester made his future plans abundantly clear. “I want to be here(Boston) until they rip the jersey off my back”, Lester told the media scrum that gathered around him. Although Lester is still contracted to pitch for the Red Sox in 2014, his intentions to sign an extension with the Red Sox as soon...

Dustin Pedroia’s Voice Mail Got David Ross ‘Completely Fired Up’ For 2014

Dustin Pedroia’s energy extends well beyond the diamond. David Ross recently told The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo that several players from last year’s Red Sox team have remained in touch throughout the offseason via text messages. Pedroia apparently went one step further, leaving a voice mail that has Ross extremely excited for the 2014 season. “It was such a special group...

David Ortiz Tweets Message To Haters Following Offseason Workout (Photo)

David Ortiz is 38 years old and still Boston strong. Ortiz, who is coming off a fantastic 2013 campaign, made it clear on Twitter on Monday that he expects to have another “monster season” in 2014. The nine-time All-Star tweeted a message to the media haters who question whether he can continue to produce at a high level. Shortly after his initial tweet regarding 2014, Ortiz...

Op-Ed: Female Sports Writers Speaks on Jenny Dell

As a female sports journalist, I'm having very mixed feelings on this whole Jenny Dell situation. In case you've been living under a rock waiting for Spring Training (totally understandable), NESN Red Sox sideline reporter Dell has been benched—and most likely due to her public relationship with third baseman Will Middlebrooks. Her benching is simple and expected...

Jenny Dell Pulled Off Red Sox Broadcasts by NESN

Alright so for all of you who do not know Jenny Dell is dating Red Sox third basemen Will Middlebrooks. This is the reason they are pulling Dell from Red Sox Broadcasts. I mean does the common viewer really care if Dell and Middlebrooks are dating? I know I don’t. I mean good for Will really. I don’t think Dell can be “bias” towards Middlebrooks while he is batting .87 from...

Brayan Villarreal has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Pawtucket, the Boston Red Sox announced Monday. Villarreal, who joined the Red Sox as part of the trade that brought Jake Peavy to Boston, had been designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for outfielder Grady Sizemore. The 28-year-old is a career .175 hitter (7-for...

Red Sox sign Corey Brown to minor league deal

The Boston Red Sox have signed outfielder Corey Brown to a minor league deal. Brown, 28, will also be invited to spring training. He figures to provide the Red Sox with depth in their minor leagues. Since 2010 Brown has been stuck at the Triple-A level. In 2013 he played in 107 games for Syracuse hitting .254/.326/.473 with 19 home runs. The previous season he hit 25 home runs in...

Rangers Plan To Convert Former Red Sox Outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin Into Pitcher

The Texas Rangers announced Monday that they have signed Taiwan native Che-Hsuan Lin to a minor league contract. The Rangers have some unique plans for Lin, too, as Texas intends to convert the former Boston Red Sox outfielder into a pitcher this season, according to multiple reports. Lin, who was signed by the Red Sox as an amateur free agent in 2007, appeared in nine games with...

Miami Marlins Lineup Analysis: 2014 Fantasy Baseball Draft Prep

Many people expected the Marlins to struggle last season as a team in totality, but I’m not sure if they expected their hitting to be as abysmal as it was in 2013. Just where did the Marlins offense rank in runs? 30th. Okay but how about in batting average? 30th. Let me save you the [...]

Daniel Nava Among 10 MLB Players Who Would Make Good Movie Subjects (Photos)

Legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker revealed last week that a Major League IV movie is in the works, which is exciting news for fans of the hilarious baseball-inspired film series. Some future films...

Jerry Remy will return to the broadcast booth

Some may consider this “old news” by now, but announcer Jerry Remy has decided to return to the Red Sox broadcast booth for 2014. After 26 years, even an event such as what has happened to his family is not always a strong enough reason to pull someone away from the job that he or she loves. What is that event? Remy’s son, as Remy reminds us in this interview posted on Boston...
