Via Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Marlins have signed Javier Vazquez to a one-year contract worth $6-7M. No surprise here as the deal had been in the works for about a week now. It’s a good gamble considering his upside. Vazquez’s contract is pending a physical, which could be a legitimate issue given concerns over his health while with the Yankees. Assuming the deal goes through and Javy ends up in the NL East, the Yankees will collect a draft pick as compensation.
