The Florida Marlins made some changes to their roster Saturday afternoon. I feel like at least one of these moves are surprising.
The Twitter Professor outfielder Logan Morrison has been optioned to Triple-A New Orleans following the 3-0 loss to the Giants in which Morrison after going 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
Morrison seemed to have been the center of the new face Marlins and the most vocal. Even though he is batting a measly .243 on the season, the 23-year old outfielder has 17 homers and 60 RBI this year.
He didn’t seem to take it very well as David Villavicencio of Marlins.com reported what Morrison said about the demotion:
“I was about to get treatment on my knee and my arm that I just left on the warning track, but I got called into the office right there,” Morrison said. “I had no idea what it was. They said, ‘We exercised the right to option you to Triple-A,’ and I walked out.”
