The Miami Marlins continue their bargain bin signings this winter adding relief pitcher Chad Qualls on a minor league contract. Qualls will compete for a spot in the Marlins bullpen. Last season Qualls spent time for three different teams. Overall the 34-year-old finished with a 5.33 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. Five years ago Qualls would have been a quality arm in any bullpen but he has been incredibility inconsistent in recent years.
