The Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays have completed a 10 player blockbuster deal on Tuesday night, according to multiple reports. The Blue Jays will get shortstop Jose Reyes, starting pitchers Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle, catcher John Buck, and outfielder Emilio Bonifacio.
In return, the Marlins receive shortstop Yunel Escobar, top prospects outfielder Jake Marisnick and shortstop Adeiny Hechevarria, catcher Jeff Mathis, and Single-A starter Anthony DeSclafani.
Also as part of the deal, the Marlins will include $4 million dollars.
The trade is awaiting approval from the commissioner’s office, but is as good as done.
Moments after the news broke, Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton tweeted:
This is a game changer for the Jays.
