It was a rough Tuesday afternoon for the Marlins as the Tampa Bay Rays gave Florida a shellacking, beating them 11-2 in the 17th Spring Training game of the season. Sean West started for the Marlins and barely was able to make it through the first two innings of the game as he would let up seven runs, only two earned though and had a strikeout. West gave up a two-run home run to Rays Manny Ramirez. Ramirez would finish the day with three RBI on the day. The rough day continued for the rest of the pitching staff that entered the game. Ryan Webb, Mike Dunn, Edward Mujica, and Dustin Richardson would all give up a run after West was pulled. As for the Marlins’ offense, it was non-existent. DeWayne Wise led off with a solo home run off of Jeremy Hellickson and Joe Thurston knocked in Bryan Petersen in the seventh to put the second Marlin run on the board.
