TEAMS: Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros
The Pittsburgh Pirates made several moves on Thursday. They optioned outfielder Gorkys Hernandez to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Left-hander Wandy Rodriguez was added to the 25-man roster.
Rodriguez was acquired from the Houston Astros on Saturday night in exchange for three prospects. His next scheduled start is TBA. Rodriguez last started on Monday.
Prospect Starling Marte was also officially added to the roster. The club optioned reliever Evan Meek to Triple-A yesterday to make room. Marte will make his Major League debut tonight in Houston. He is batting leadoff, playing left field and will wear No. 6.
