Another fine outing for Matt Harrison tonight.  He was so much better than his line implies.  He pitche 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks.  He struck out six. Even though he allowed a lead-off single to Jason Kipnis, it looked like Harrison might escape the 6th inning when Carlos Santana hit into a double play. But then Ross Canzler singled and Matt LaPorta doubled to bring home the Indians’ second run of the game.  And apparently, Ron Washington decided that was enough. I thought the Rangers’ six runs might be enough too, but the bullpen made me question that.   Four of the Texas runs scored in the 2nd, courtesy of a Michael Young single, a wild pitch, a Leonys Martin sacrifice fly and an Ian Kinsler double.  The fifth run was Adrian Beltre — a home run (that he thought was a double)  in the 5th.  Elvis Andrus hit an RBI single in the 6th. Then came the bullpen. Alexi Ogando was fine as he finished out the 6th and sat down three straight batters in the 7t...

Kinsler makes first appearance at third base

ARLINGTON, Texas Ian Kinsler really, really wanted a ball hit to him in his first-ever appearance at third base. A career second baseman, Kinsler played the last two innings at third but never got a chance to handle the ball. "I wanted something...

Rangers hold breath on Beltre, Hamilton, Olt injuries

For the 10th time this season, Adrian Beltre and Josh Hamilton homered in the same game Wednesday night. The Texas Rangers can only hope it's not the last chance they get. Jurickson Profar says he tricked Kyle Farnsworth, delivered tie-breaking hit

Rangers rookie Jurickson Profar delivered what turned out to be a game-winning double against the Rays on Saturday night, but he claims he acted like a savvy veteran in the process. In the top of the 10th, Tampa Bay reliever Kyle Farnsworth threw a pitch way inside on the 19-year-old in a moment that could have been interpreted as Farnsworth welcoming him to the big leagues. Profar...
