I’m not even going to put any little intro here today. You can just take a look at any of my past wraps and it would be the same old story. I’ll just get right to it ... Offense Continues to ... Well, You Know I know Matt Harvey is good. Not just good, but REALLY good. That guy has electric stuff. However, one hit? An infield hit? 14 strikeouts as a team? It’s pathetic and really is becoming a joke. I’m sorry, I’ve held back for long enough. I get that it is early, but this putrid offense cannot keep up. The lack of contact they make is not just bad, it’s probably the worst in all of baseball and one of the worst in franchise history to start a season. Sure, Robin Ventura may be able to do some things in-game to get things moving a little (the bunting thing is a hot topic, I know), but even if he does, I’m not sure how much that would help considering how bad this offense is at simply just putting the bat on the baseball. I don’t have any answers for it. I just hope that the team does. Hector’s Homecoming You can’t help but feel bad for Hector Santiago. The man pitches maybe his best game in his young career in his home city in front of 150 family and friends, and yet that gets totally overshadowed by Matt Harvey and the Sox offensive woes. The fact of the matter is this: Hector Santiago (pictured below, H/T Getty Images via ESPN.com) is a starting pitcher in the big leagues. Based on how he finished last season as a member of the rotation and how he’s done in his starts this year, it seems like he does better when he starts, and he’s already a pretty good long-reliever to begin with. It will be interesting to see what unfolds when John Danks comes back, as right now, nobody in that rotation deserves to come out of it. Jones Coughs Up the Lead Based on his body of work in a White Sox uniform, I think it is safe to say that Nate Jones is someone you only trust to pitch one inning. In the 10th inning, he let up a leadoff walk before Mike Baxter singled home the game-winning run just one batter later (pictured atop, H/T Getty Images via ESPN.com). Especially this season, it seems like he runs into trouble in that second inning of work. It’s something that I’m surprised Robin Ventura has not realized. Box Score  -  Play-by-Play  -  Photos  -  Video Peavy Returns Tomorrow Jake Peavy gets the start tomorrow, with the back spasms hopefully fully behind him. Peavy gets paid to win starts like the one he has tomorrow, as while the Sox won a game in Kansas City, it just has the feel of one of those games that you need your “stopper” to go out there and win. Hopefully, the Jakemeister delivers tomorrow, and maybe the offense can actually string a few hits together for a change.
