Chase d’Arnaud among 10 cuts

The Pirates optioned Chase d’Arnaud, Jeff Locke, Rudy Owens, and Duke Welker. Robbie Grossman, Tony Sanchez, Anderson Hernandez, Ramon Cabrera, Michael Crotta, and Logan Kensing were all assigned to minor league camp, as well. There really aren’t any surprises here other than d’Arnaud. Based on who is in camp, d’Arnaud was definitely a long shot to make the club, but I was...

MLB 2012 Preview: Pittsburgh Pirates

In 2007 the Pittsburgh Pirates were what the Houston Astros are today. In 2012, they’re in a better place and there’s growing optimism in Pittsburgh. All one has to do is look at the deal they made last week with Andrew McCutchen. At six years, $51 million that may seem like a lot to the ordinary citizen (and you’re not wrong), but in baseball terms this could be as big a...

On the mound: James McDonald had a very rough outing, allowing 5 runs in 6 innings. He struggled...

Poll: Which free agent should the Steelers sign?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll. I would like to make it known that I originally posted this poll before the AJ Burnett incident.  Not long after it went up, 3rd was the early leader.  It wasn’t until Burnett broke his face in training that dead last became the predominate choice among the BB&...
