The Atlanta Braves evened up the series with the Philadelphia Phillies with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday night. The Braves rode the backs of Kris Medlen and Chris Johnson to get the win against the Phillies. Kris Medlen was great on the mound, as he recorded his 4th straight start with a win. The win evened up Medlen’s W-L record for the season. He is now 10-10 for 2013. It is pretty awesome for Medlen to be back at .500 after a rough start to the season. He finished the game with 7 IP, 1 ER, and 5 K’s. It was Medlen’s bat that got the Braves started. He doubled to deep right field in the game’s 2nd inning. Tyler Pastornicky, who replaces Dan Uggla (DL), was able to score and get the Braves the game’s 1st run. Chris Johnson, who continues to shock Braves fans, got in on the scoring when he homered to left field in the 3rd. Justin Upton was on base when Johnson hit his 9th homer of the season. The Phillies would get their only run in the 6th. Dominique Brown singled to center to...

ATLANTA -- Taking three cuts as the Braves rode Chris Johnson's two-run home runs and Kris Medlen's arm and bat to a 3-1 victory over the Phillies Tuesday at Turner Field.
1. Medlen most certainly has his swagger back
With a 14 12-game lead in the National League East, the last thing the rest of baseball wants to see is the Braves getting even better. But with Kris Medlen...
Atlanta Braves infielder Chris Johnson was unceremoniously tossed by home plate umpire Jim Joyce for arguing a called 3rd strike on a check swing in the first inning of Saturday’s game against the Marlins. Johnson lipped off to Joyce, then threw his bat and slammed down his helmet, which prompted the ump to toss the N.L.’s leading hitter. Atlanta would go on to lose to the Marlins...
Kris Medlen has more proof he's returning to his 2012 form, and the evidence -- a win over the Phillies -- is especially encouraging.
The right-hander continued his late-season surge by winning his fourth straight start, Chris Johnson hit a two-run home run and the Atlanta Braves beat Philadelphia 3-1 Tuesday night.
Entering the game, Medlen had a 5.85 ERA in his career against...

Dan Uggla opted to undergo LASIK surgery with the Braves firmly in control of the NL East. The Braves called up Tyler Pastornicky to occupy second base during Uggla’s absence but after a collision on Wednesdays his status is up in the air.
Pastornicky collided with outfielder Jason Heyward on a pop fly with one out in the third inning of the Braves...
Kris Medlen continued his late-season surge by winning his fourth straight start, Chris Johnson hit a two-run home run and the Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 Tuesday night.
Medlen (10-10) appeared to be in danger of being sent to the bullpen one month ago. In late July, Tim Hudson was lost for the season with a broken right ankle and Paul Maholm went on the 15...
The Atlanta Braves recently recalled infielder Tyler Pastornicky to fill the roster spot left vacant by second baseman Dan Uggla,
who’s away from the team to undergo LASIK eye surgery. It now appears the
Braves could be forced to find someone to fill in for Pastornicky, as the
youngster was forced to exit last night’s game against the Philadelphia
Phillies after sustaining...
Following yet another rain delay, the Braves jumped all over the Phillies and coasted to a 6-3 win Wednesday night. Here are three observations from the game:
1. The Braves did not give John Lannan a chance to get comfortable
When it comes to scoring in the first two innings of ballgames, the Braves have not exactly been world-beaters this season, saving the majority of their fireworks...
As the red-hot Atlanta Braves needed anymore reinforcements, they could be getting another starting pitcher back to add even more depth. When Tim Hudson went down, the Braves depth at pitcher became a true strength. Paul Maholm's return from the DL will only help that further.
According to Makr Bowman of MLB.com, Maholm is progressing well in his rehab and could return...
Authorities identified a fan who died after falling more than 60 feet from an upper-level platform at Atlanta's Turner Field as a 29-year-old man.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office early Tuesday identified the man as Ronald Homer of Conyers, Ga., and said an autopsy was planned for Tuesday.
Homer fell during Monday night's game between the Atlanta Braves and...
ATLANTA Here are three things we learned from the Braves' 5-1 loss to the Phillies, before a soggy, but hearty crowd of 20,676:
1. Julio Teheran might only regret two pitches from this night ... against the Phillies' weakest two hitters (on paper)
In the third inning, Philly pitcher Cole Hamels strode to the plate with one out, apparently set on raking Teheran's first...
Saw this on the ESPN ticker while drinking last night. It's now been confirmed as real:
Dan Uggla is on the DL after having Lasik surgery that the Braves wanted him to have in the spring.

A 30-year old lifelong Braves fan fell 65 feet to his death last night during a rain delay at Turner Field. Police have ruled out foul play in the death of Ronald Lee Homer Jr. The accident happened right at the end of a two-hour rain delay in a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves. Sadly, he had just finished a cell phone conversation with his mother before...
