New York Mets
DENVER - After using six pitchers Friday night in an excruciating loss, the Mets sent Dillon Gee to the mound Saturday to restore order against the Rockies at Coors Field. He succeeded by giving them seven innings and throwing a career-high 116 pitches as the Mets beat the Rockies 7-5. Lucas Duda hit a two-run homer and drove in four runs, and Ruben Tejada, Daniel Murphy and David Wright each had three hits as the Mets rebounded from an 18-9 loss highlighted by the Rockies’ 11-run fifth. Gee, who was pitching on his 26th birthday, evened his record at 2-2 as he made his fourth start of the season and the first of his career against the Rockies. Frank Francisco, who earned his fifth save, had a three-run lead to protect after the Mets scored once in the ninth. Pinch-hitter Mike Baxter blooped a double to short right field, took third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch by Edgmer Escalona, the fifth Rockies pitcher. The Rockies got one run back with two out in the ni...

The New York Mets evened the series with a 7-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies:

After allowing three runs on five hits in the fourth, Gee settled down to pitch three scoreless which included retiring thefinal seven batters he faced. Following his...
After dropping the series opener to the Colorado Rockies last night by a score of 18-9, the New York Mets will try to rebound and keep the Rox from putting up a run total reminiscent of a church league softball game. Dillon Gee will take the hill for the Mets and square off against former A’s starter Guillermo Moscoso.
While Moscoso makes his first start of the year, Gee will...
Dillon Gee took the hill to square off against the Rockies rookie hurler Guillermo Moscoso in the second game of the three game set in the Mile High City. Gee, coming off an awful start, came to play tonight, hurling seven frames allowing four runs (3 earned) on seven hits while punching out seven, picking up his second win of the year. Moscoso however didn’t enjoy the...
After yesterday’s win over the Marlins, it was announced that Mike Pelfrey was likely to undergo elbow surgery and miss the remainder of the season. This is really bad news for the Mets, a statement I’d never thought I would say. The Pelfrey we saw in three starts this year was doing everything he needed to do to “cross the Rubicon,” as broadcaster Keith Hernandez would...
The Mets will try to put last night’s ugly game behind them today as they take on the Rockies in game two. The positive from last night would be Hairston, who hit for the cycle, the first from the Mets since 2006 when Jose Reyes did the same feet. Besides that, last night was a wash of bad defense and bad pitching (and bad pitching for both teams). The Mets will call on Dillon...
After a horrific 18-9 loss last night, the Mets came back with a 7-5 victory over the Rockies this evening to take game 2 of the 3 game weekend series. Dillon Gee pitched very well, going 7 innings with 7 strikeouts, allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs. His ERA for the season 4.85.
Murphy and Wright each had 3 hits, but Thole’s 10 game hit streak came to an end today going 0...
The Mets win a three game weekend series against the Rockies, taking the rubber game 6-5 in eleven innings. This was a really strange series where we pretty much saw the unexpected. The Mets scored 9 runs on Friday night, only to see the Rocks score 18! One guy hit for the cycle, another hit a grand slam pitch hit home run, certainly not your generic, run of mill series.
DENVER -- After using five relievers for five innings Friday night in an excruciating loss, the Mets sent Dillon Gee to the mound Saturday. They were hoping he could restore order against the Rockies at Coors Field and complete a specific task. "We needed some innings, there was no question," Mets manager Terrry Collins said. "Dillon was going to have throw 100 pitches...
Coming off of a loss in which the Mets lost by more than a touchdown, the club will look to bounce back behind a strong performance from Dillon Gee and the return of Ike Davis to the lineup. The last time Ike Davis played in Colorado would wind up being the last time he played in 2011. After a collision with David Wright, Ike Davis rolled his ankle and experienced complications...
After tonight’s series win against the Rockies, the Mets filed out of the clubhouse one by one dressed in western garb as they head down to Houston, Texas for the start of a three game showdown with the Astros.

After another successful home stand, the Mets fly out West to Colorado before heading to Houston. At 11-8, the Mets have to build some momentum on this road trip.
The Rockies and Astros both present very winnable matchups for the Mets, and when you consider the Mets will see Arizona-Philadelphia-Miami-Milwaukee-Cincinnati-Toronto. Six teams that many predicted would be in a playoff...
