The Mets announced that Jon Niese has a bruise, but that X-Rays were negative and are saying he is day-to-day.
Good news, to say the least…
Jon Niese was just removed from the game in the top of the third inning after being hit by a batted ball by Mark Ellis while trying to get out of it’s way.
He dropped to the ground in pain, but left the field under his own power although with a noticeable limp.
Robert Carson came into the game to replace him.
Of course we’ll let you know more about the severity of the injury as soon as we learn more.
As I’ve mentioned all week and backed up today by MMO Minor League Analyst Mitch Petanick, if Jon Niese goes on the DL, both Collin McHugh and Rafael Montero are ahead of Zack Wheeler as far as being MLB ready.
Lets hope for some good news on Niese…
