The Mets had 4 players up for arbitration this off season.  MIke Pelfrey, Manny Acosta and the Two player they acquired from the San Francisco Giants for Angel Pagan, Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez.  All four players were agreed to deals with the Mets avoiding the entire arbitration process. Mike Pelfrey: Big Pelf will recive a raise over what he made last season and $5.65 million in 2012.  Yeah you read that right! MIke Pelfrey will receive a raise of $1.75 million dollars over his 2011 salary.  I just don’t understand how it’s possible for him to get a pay increase off of the terrible season he had last year.  In case you don’t remember what his line was, here is a refresher. Pelfrey:  7 W-13 L 4.74 ERA, 1.47 WHIP Andres Torres: The speedy outfielder settled for $2.7 million which is about what we expected.  With no real competition on the roster it appears that Torres will be our starting Center Fielder for the 2012 season.  That could change during the season ...

Mike Pelfrey called in to SNY’s Mets Hot Stove and said: “Last year, I as I’ve tried to reflect on it, I think I’ve given up way too many homers. Narrow Left Wing Conspiracy

Mike Pelfrey’s been re-signed, so that’s a load off our minds. If we didn’t have the tall wonder’s shortcomings on which to dwell, what starter’s lack of progress would obsess us ahead of Spring Training? Jon Niese’s probably, which seems a little quick, considering he’s only 25 and has yet to make more than 30 starts in a single season. Non-pitching injuries seem to...
