Mets Merized Online:
According to this tweet by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Mets may have something cooking with the Texas Rangers who are seeking to move outfielder Julio Borbon.
Borbon, 27, was designated for assignment last week and the Rangers have until this afternoon to trade him or place him on irrevocable waivers. He has a slash of .283/.324/.358 over parts of four years in the majors.
Last season, Borbon hit .304/.349/.433 with 23 doubles, eight triples, 10 home runs and 20 stolen bases in 28 attempts for the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate.
The Orioles have previously been tied to the Rangers outfielder and remain the heavy favorites to land him.

Generally speaking, I'm of the notion that the loss of a starting pitcher for anything less than a couple months does not have that large an impact on a team. However, if that starting pitcher is the missing piece that can turn a rotation from being top-five in the league to number one overall, things change. Neftali Feliz has been on the disabled list since the start of...

Unless you have been away from your computer, smart phone, or tablet for the past hour or so, you probably have already heard that Travis d’Arnaud will probably miss up to two months with a fracture in his foot.
This is crushing news, as Mets fans were started to get really excited about seeing the top catching prospect make his Flushing debut...
While we were worried about his hitting in Spring Training, the last thing we thought we’d have to worry about from Ruben Tejada was his defense.
Well, after an abysmal start defensively, Tejada (six errors thus far) is causing a lot of headaches for a Mets’ team with little margin for error. Tejada has been the poster boy for bad defense by the Mets. In their first 13 games...
Adam Rubin has reported that Mets top catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud broke his left foot in last night's game for the AAA Las Vegas 51's while pursuing a foul ball. It is not believed that the young catcher will need surgery because the fracture in non-displaced. When asked, Mets skipper Terry Collins said,
" It's part of the game. He's a catcher...

Lynn Worthy just broke the news on Twitter, that Jake DeGrom will remain with the Binghamton Mets even when Cory Mazzoni comes off the disabled list next week.
Worthy adds that the B-Mets will go with a six-man rotation which is something they did last season as well.
Great news, and DeGrom is exactly where he should have been to start the season.

Dick Monfort, the owner of the Rockies has decided to make today's Mets-Rockies double-header a twi-night double header than a day-night double header.
What this simply means is that the same crowd for game one will see game two instead of emptying the stadium and have the second crowd enter.
Expected game time has been moved back to 5:10 tonight.
It took a little longer than usual in the day, but finally had a bullpen collapse. There were two rounds, although the first is hard to put all on Bobby Parnell. The Mets were up 8-6 in the 8th inning. Using 3 relievers and only having one hit out of the infield the Rockies scored 2 runs to tie the game up. The first base runner was allowed via error and a seeming routine...

Turns out it was worse than what everyone thought.
Sandy Alderson just announced that Travis d’Arnaud has a non-displaced fracture in the first metatarsal in his left foot.
Alderson said d’Arnaud will travel to New York to visit team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery to evaluate the severity of the injury.
Right now, there is no timetable for his return.

Give the Yankees credit, when they want to put on a show few do it better.
There was a moment of silence prior to the game – also one for former Giants player Pat Summerall – but a note of peace and unity on the scoreboard in honor of those killed and injured in Monday’s terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon.
It has become a...
The Seattle Mariners have had the most success against Yu Darvish in his brief time in the major leagues, but it's all come in their own stadium.
Having to face Darvish on the road could produce a different result, especially with the Texas Rangers right-hander pitching on six days' rest.
The Mariners handed Darvish his first loss of the season last week, and they'll...
