Zack Wheeler made his second start of the season last night for Las Vegas and lasted five-and-a-third innings, allowing four runs (one earned) off eight hits and three walks, while striking out six. A few things to note past that line? First off, Wheeler fields his position pretty well, which is always a positive. Another positive is the fact that his breaking ball looked really strong early and flashed real potential. He recorded 16 outs and 14 of them were via ground-out or strikeout. He still struggled with his command a little – but there’s no rush, Zack. You’ll get it down.
On the other side of the ball, Josh Satin continues to pummel the ball. He has a .480/.800/1.319 slash to begin the season, and he jacked his second home run of the season last night.
