According to Baseball America, the Mets have signed Alex Cintron to a minor-league deal.

Cintron, 31, was 2-for-26 (.077) in 21 games with the Nationals last season.

He is career .275 hitter with 33 HR and 222 RBI over nine MLB seasons.
