The New York Mets completed the three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night and rallied to win 10-6:

The win marked the clubs fifth in-a-row, as they  improved to five games over .500 for the first time since July 19th 2010.  Trailing 4-2 after six innings, the Mets rallied to pick up their MLB best 11th comeback victory. Following the game, manager Terry Collins said the following about the three-game sweep:

We came in and got them at the right time. We took advantage of playing hard. If there was a mistake made we capitalized on it. It was a great trip for us. And, we’ll enjoy it for a while and get ready for this weekend. …You come in and tell any team, not just us, your gonna see Halladay and Lee and your gonna sweep them. That’s a lot to say.”

7th INNING COMEBACK:  After a Kirk Nieuwenhuis walk and back-to-back doubles by Justin Turner and Ike Davis, the Mets loaded the bases on a Rob Johnson (making him MLB debut) walk. Phillies reliever Kyle Kendrick followed the four-pitch was by pegging pitch hitter Lucas Duda in the leg to force home the game tying run.  The Mets took the lead when Andres Torres grounded into a run scoring fielders choice.

Kendrick was finally relieved in the top of the eighth inning after serving up back-to-back doubles to David Wright and Scott Hairston; prompting Gary Cohen to say the following about the reliever:

I LIKE IKE: Ike Davis collected two hits in four at-bats, including a towering three-run bomb in the top of the eighth off Jose Contreras to extend the Mets lead 9-4. Davis has been struggling to say the least and hopefully this can be the start of something good for Ike. To think the Mets are 18-13 while Ike is hitting below the mendoza line is pretty amazing.  He spoke with Kevin Burkhardt after the game, saying:

Every time we’ve come in here they just beat our butts and it sucks. …It’s just really nice to be able to sweep them in their own place.  No one believed in us — I hope they don’t still. We’re just going to continue to play hard. We’ve got a lot of young guys, basically our whole team. And, we’re surrounded by some good veterans and it’s just exciting. It’s a good atmosphere in the clubhouse.”

WELCOME BACK: Andress Torres was 2-for-4, with 2 runs scored, a triple, solo homer and two runs batted in.  Since coming off the DL on May 1, the Mets centerfielder is 11-for-30 and has reached base in all ten games he has played this season:

FIVE-IN-A-ROW AND LOOKING FOR MORE: The Mets will head to Miami to take on the Marlins as they send Johan Santana to the hill to face Mark Buerhle.
