Found April 23, 2013 on MetsZilla:
New York Mets baseball is in full swing and for a lot of us that means fantasy baseball season is also well underway.  Matt Harvey, David Wright, John Buck and the rest of the Mets have helped bring some newfound excitement to Queens, giving fans hope for what many thought would be a ‘lost’ 2013 season.  That same hope may or may not be in tact for your fantasy baseball team. Most fantasy baseball leagues play out over the course of an entire season, but we’ve teamed up with an innovative site, Draftstreet.com, that has taken things to a new level.  DraftStreet can almost be explained as the love child of fantasy baseball and poker, whereby you can choose your fantasy team and get immediate rewards in one-day or multi-day events.   Simply put, Draftstreet makes it easy to turn the page on a bad day in fantasy land and have generously offered our readers a  FREE FANTASY BASEBALL CHALLENGE with $300 in cash prizes this Friday, April 26! To participate you simply need to enter through the banner ad/link below or on our Facebook page and start picking your team.  The top 15 positions in the contest get paid (check out the breakdown below for the specifics). Getting started is an easy process: 1) Enter the Metszilla/Draftstreet.com freeroll through this link and sign up with a username and password. 2) Fill your roster [C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, 3 OF, 2 utility players (any position), 2 SP, RP, flex pitcher (SP or RP)] while staying within the *budget of $100k. *Player salaries are set by DraftStreet based on fantasy production. So, if you want to put Jordan Zimmerman or C.J. Wilson on the mound this Friday, it will cost you more than someone like Dillon Gee, who gets the nod for New York against Kyle Kendrick and the Phillies. 3) The contest is Friday and is a one day event.  You can build your team at any time between now and then and adjust your roster up until the games start Friday. 4) Check out the scoreboard when the games start and watch to see if you finish in the money! Friday morning the Metszilla staff will be posting our squads for everyone to view and we can’t wait to see what kind of teams all of you put together.  After all, we all know Mets fans are the most knowledgeable baseball fans around, but let’s see if it translates to success on the fantasy baseball stage.  Good luck to everyone!

John Buck: From Trade Bait To Indispensable?

Several times this season John Buck’s fast start fueled speculation that with Travis d’Arnaud’s promotion the Mets might deal him at the trade deadline. After all, who doesn’t want a hot-hitting catcher who calls a crisp game behind the plate? Most every team would and that includes the Mets, who, along with Buck exceeded early expectations. BUCK: Proving very valuable. It’s...

The Buck Stops Here: Mets Take The Series With 2-0 Win Over Nats

The New York Mets (9-8) bounced back from a disappointing 7-6 loss to the Washington Nationals on Saturday, and took the series with a convincing 2-0 win this afternoon at Citi Field. Instaslam

They say Christmas comes but once a year. But we know better. We here in Flushing get to watch Matt Harvey, and every start has been dubbed "Matt Harvey Day". It's a little dangerous, considering that Harvey can't very well go eight innings and give up one run every game.He can't be dominant every night, and we learned that in his latest start against the Los...

Valdespin Wins It With A Walk-Off Grand Slam In Dramatic 7-3 Win

The walk-off grand slam by Spin was the first in 23 years when Kevin McReynolds last did it in 1991. Matt Harvey started the game and didn’t...

Can Jordany Valdespin’s walk-off grand slam lead to better things?

Talk about a pick-me up! After an uninspiring first-game effort against the Dodgers on Tuesday and then failing to do much in Matt Harvey’s so-so start(at least by Harvey standards) to begin Wednesday night’s affair, the Mets appeared on the verge of dropping their second straight game to the Dodgers. The Mets were listless offensively for eight innings and were trailing the...
