As spring training gets underway, the Miami Marlins announced Friday that the team has agreed to a deal with free agent Casey Kotchman. Kotchman was a member of the Cleveland Indians last season an hit 12 home runs driving in 55 runs while playing in 142 games last season. He is expected to back up Logan Morrison at first base for the fish this season.
Kotchman is just two years removed from his best season, posting a .306 career high batting average as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays. The Miami Marlins are the seventh team Kotchman has played for during his career.
