The Miami Marlins have recalled outfielder Matt Diaz from Triple-A New Orleans to serve as depth in the outfield for Miami. In other transactions, they also activated short stop Adeiny Hechavarria from the 15-day disabled list, optioned pitcher Brad Hand to Triple-A New Orleans and designated infielder Nick Green for assignment. Green must clear waivers to be retained in the system.
