The Miami Marlins’ offense has a big day on Sunday beating the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 14-2.   Miami scored nine runs in the first few innings and continued to add on as the game progressed.   The oddity of this outburst is Kevin Slowey was the starter and he had received the worst run support thus far.   With the ton of support, Slowey won his first game as a Marlin and the team won their second straight. Slowey tossed seven shutout innings that included seven strikeouts, two walks and a pair of hits.  With the win, Slowey improved to 1-2 on the year to go along with a 1.81 E.R.A.  A.J. Ramos and Jon Rauch worked the final two innings with both of the runs scored by Philadelphia coming off of Ramos.  Only one was earned.   Slowey threw 60 of his 95 pitches for strikes and likely could’ve went another inning if the game was closer. Justin Ruggiano hit a pair of home runs to give him six on the year while Adeiny Hechavarria hit his second of the year in what was his first career grand slam.  Hechavarria also tripled to give him a total of 7 RBI in the game.   Marcell Ozuna continued to shine picking up his first 4 hit game as a Major Leaguer including two doubles. The Marlins will try to win a third straight on Monday with Wade LeBlanc scheduled to start.
