From SI.com:New York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda was arrested early Monday morning for driving under the influence, reports the New York Post‘s Dan Mangan.
Pineda, who is out for the season after having shoulder surgery in April, ”had a fixed gaze and his eyes were bloodshot, watery and glassy” when he was stopped in Tampa, Fla., according to the arresting officer’s report. His blood-alcohol level was .128 and .125 in two tests, Mangan reports. He also reports Pineda was charged with DUI and released on bond.I still can't understand how these athletes don't have the common sense to call a damn cab. Yes, I know, he's "ONLY" making $528,475 this year, but that should be more than enough to be able to afford cabs.

Here's yet another reason to hate the Jesus Montero/Michael Pineda trade -- Pineda's DWI arrest Monday in Tampa.According to a police report that the New York Post saw, Pineda's SUV's headlights were turned off and he was driving at "a high rate of speed and weaving from side to side, crossing the lane markers, failing to maintain [a] single lane of travel...
From Bryan Hoch:The Yankees received encouraging news on Sunday regarding Alex Rodriguez and Andy Pettitte, who are both progressing toward September returns from the disabled list.
A-Rod and Pettitte had X-rays performed on their fractured left hand and fractured left fibula, respectively, and team doctors told the players that their injuries are healing as expected.
From Bryan Hoch:Pedro Feliciano hasn't thrown a pitch for the Yankees since signing a two-year, $8 million contract, but there is hope that may be about to change.
Feliciano pitched a scoreless inning on Saturday for the Gulf Coast Yankees, the lefty reliever's third outing for the club, and manager Joe Girardi is hopeful that Feliciano will be able to see time at the...

The Yankees will send the crafty right-hander, Freddy Garcia, to the hill tonight in game one of a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox. I just want you to know, we are losing this game. You can all go to bed.It is time to begin panic.
This Derek Jeter fan somehow finds himself in a slightly drunken dance contest on a platform. He does well at first. He even completes “The Worm” for one singular worm crawl. His problem was not simply falling off of the stage. His “Downfall” was grabbing on to a 2X4 that was not secure. He falls [...]
On Friday, Nick Swisher hit two homeruns in the game and last night it was Ichiro Suzuki's turn to hit two bombs in a game. Beckett allowed 4 runs and two of them were solo HRs from Ichiro. Those 4 runs were more than enough for Kuroda who has probably been the Yankees best pitcher this season. The Sox lost another series and are now 7.5 games back of the 2nd wild card...
Ichiro Suzuki homered twice and Hiroki Kuroda pitched eight innings of four-hit ball to lead the New York Yankees past Josh Beckett and the Boston Red Sox 4-1 on Sunday night.
Derek Jeter had three hits and scored twice for the Yankees, who took two of three from Boston despite playing the entire series without slugger Mark Teixeira. The AL East leaders won for the ninth time in...

Hiroki Kuroda man, Hiroki Kuroda. What can I say, I thought the guy wasn’t going to fair well in the AL East, but he’s been the unsung hero for the Yankees. I can’t wait to see Ichiro in the pplayoffs.

The AL East-leading New York Yankees have rebounded from their rough patch.
The AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox, meanwhile, are suddenly in a little slump, and a home series against the Yankees might not be the best way to break out of it.
Surging New York could have Mark Teixeira back in the lineup as it looks to win its seventh straight game on Chicago's South Side in...
Alexei Ramirez hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the seventh, Adam Dunn added his major league leading 36th an inning later and the Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees 9-6 on Monday night to end a three-game losing streak.

Roger Clemens signed a contract on Monday to play for the Sugar Land (Texas) Skeeters of the South Atlantic Independent League. The 50 year-old pitcher last appeared in MLB for the New York Yankees during the 2007 season.
