If you are a sports fan from NYC like The Mug is, then you definitely have been to Mickey Mantle's Restaurant and Sports Bar.  I fondly remember my experience their as a kid sitting in a restaurant filled with some great sports memorabilia.  The restaurant and Bar was first opened in 1988 with Mantle as part owner.  Yankee fans turned up in bunches just to get the chance to rub arms with The Mick who was often at the restaurant with a drink, chatting with fans and signing his world famous autograph.  After his death in 1994, the restaurant was left to his partners and really turned into a tourist trap with the nostalgic sports feel gone.  A New York court ordered the bankrupt restaurant and bar pad-locked after over 24 years in business.  The assets and sports memorabilia will be auctioned off to pay off creditors.
