It was all in fun, as both players are from Venezuela, so they share a common bond. Altuve only stands 5-foot-5, so he looks up to Cabrera literally and figuratively. The friendly greeting may have inspired Altuve's performance in the game, as he went 3-for-5 with 2 steals in the 6-4 Astros victory. Although Cabrera is a two-time American League MVP, Altuve is proving himself to be a solid player in his own right, leading the majors with 116 hits. Altuve's 36 steals for the season has already surpassed his career high, and he became the first player since 1917 to record multiple stolen basis in four straight games.Video via MLB.
