.330 batting average.  44 home runs.  139 RBIs.  Baseball’s elusive proverbial Triple Crown collected dust 1967.  Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Yastrzemski last won the Triple Crown 45 years ago when he lead the American League with a .326 batting average, 44 home runs and 121 RBIs.  Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera will forever sport the crown as he concluded his regular season Wednesday night leading the American League in each of the three categories. The hitting Triple Crown has now been accomplished 16 years since 1878.  1878!  Cabrera used a white hot final three months of the regular season to put the clamps on the accomplishment. In July, Cabrera hit .34 4 with nine home runs and 23 RBIs. In August, he hit .357 with eight jacks and 24 RBIs. In September and two and a half games in October, he tallied a .333 batting average with 11 bombs and 30 RBIs.
