After narrowly missing out on the AL MVP Award in his rookie season the 21-year-old is continuing to put up numbers in his sophomore season. After Tuesday game, Trout is hitting .293/.373/.558 with 9 home runs and 34 RBI.

Going...Going...Gone: Mike Trout Blasts Longest Home Run of his Career

When you do something crazy like become the youngest player in the history of the American League to hit for the cycle--like Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout--following that up with something comparable is pretty tough to do. Mike Trout did his best to follow up his historic game and didn't do a bad job of it smacking the ball 463 feet making it the longest home run of...

Mike Trout becomes youngest player in MLB history to hit for cycle

Tweet Last season, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Mike Trout took the major leagues by storm by putting together one of the best rookie seasons in history, and he appears to be picking up right where he left off. Tuesday night Trout became the youngest player in MLB history to hit for the cycle, [...]

Your browser does not support iframes. Mike Trout became the sixth Angels player to hit for the cycle when he turned the trick in a 12-0 blowout win over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. Trout showcased his diverse talents while achieving the milestone. He beat out an infield single to the right side in the third, drilled a triple to center in the fourth, roped a 3-run double...

Mike Trout Proves What We Already Know--He is One Bad Dude

It is not too often that we see a rookie come out and dominate like Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout did last season. You could definitely argue that he deserved the AL MVP last season (but it was hard to deny Miguel Cabrera at the same time). The one thing about coming out of the gate as hard as Trout did last season was that he had to provide fans with Act II this season...

Mike Trout Hits for Cycle in Angels 12-0 Rout of Seattle

Last year’s AL Rookie of the Year and one of the most electrifying young players in the game, Mike Trout hit for the cycle on Tuesday night in a 12-0 rout of the Seattle Mariners at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels. Trout’s cycle would start with an infield single in the third-inning, followed by an RBI triple to deep right center field in the fourth-inning. In the sixth-inning...

Mike Trout hits for the Cycle

Last night in Anaheim, Mike Trout became the youngest player to ever hit for the cycle (21 years, 288 days). Trout stepped to the plate in the 8th inning for his final at-bat needing a home run, and a home run is exactly what he did against Lucas Luetge. My good friend and Mike Trout enthusiast (he’s also an Angels fan) remarked via text that this is what it must of been like to...

Mike Trout Hits For The Cycle

Courtesy of ESPN Just when we thought it was okay to give the 2013 MVP to the last year’s Triple Crown and MVP winner, Miguel Cabrera guess who decides to crash the party?  Mike Trout, the sophomore sensation who finished second in the AL MVP vote last year.  Trout had an answer to Cabrera’s recent tear by hitting for the cycle on Tuesday night against the Seattle Mariners...

Trout hits for cycle, Angels romp

Mike Trout even surprised himself in adding to his growing list of impressive big league achievements. Trout hit for the cycle and drove in five runs, Josh Hamilton celebrated his 32nd birthday with a homer and a triple his first two times up, and Howie Kendrick also went deep in the Los Angeles Angels' 12-0 rout of the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. Trout, last season...

Halo Headlines: Albert Pujols doesn't matter anymore, rekindling the Cabrera-Trout debate

The May 21st, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Albert Pujols doesn't matter anymore, rekindling the Cabrera-Trout debate and much more... The Story: Albert Pujols doesn't matter anymore. The Monkey Says: I cannot counter any of this. Pujols just isn't a top player anymore, at least not while his body is broken down the way it is...

All Hail Mike Trout

We all know who Bryce Harper is – the guy will literally run into a wall for attention and then blame it on playing stupid hard.  And we all know that Miguel Cabrera is crushing high-AAA pitching on a daily basis.  There is another guy, though, that should be garnering way more attention than he currently is – Mike Trout. Last night, Mike Trout did his best pre-Kim Basinger...

Mike Trout hits for the Cycle, Angels trounce the Marins, 12-0

The evening began with birthday boy Josh Hamilton launching a deep 2-run home run into left centerfield. The star of Arte Moreno's 2012 offseason looks like he is finally ready to climb out of his season-long funk. And that could very well have been the story of the night, but the 32-year-old's birthday bash was overshadowed by a kid 11 years his junior: Mike Trout, who made...

Trot Times for May 21, 2013

Time for the trots! Your browser does not support iframes. Home Run of the Day: Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels - 20.69 seconds [video] It's hard to say this without sounding like a buzzkill, but there's no celebrated feat in baseball more worthless than hitting for the cycle. It's just a neat little accounting oddity. However, I still find it fun to see when...

The curious case of the Angels poor outfield defensive metrics

The Angels' outfield defense was supposed to be a many splendored thing. With Josh Hamilton supplanting Mark Trumbo in right field, Mike Trout shifting to left and Peter Bourjos returning to a starting role in center, the Halos had arguably the best defensive outfield in all of the land. We even joked how the Halos could play just Trout and Bourjos and still have nary a ball...

Angels-Royals Preview

An offensive boon has the Los Angeles Angels on their longest winning streak of the season. An old friend is looking to end it. Hot-hitting Mike Trout and the surging Angels face former teammate Ervin Santana in the opener of this four-game series against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night. Los Angeles (19-27) has been one of baseball's biggest disappointments this season...

Angels Player Power Rankings - Week 8

The Angels continue to teeter on the edge of irrelevancy but that won't stop us from ranking the players under the (misguided?) belief that they can snap out of this funk.... RANK PLAYER CHANGE COMMENTS 1 -- 0 Last Week: 1 Mike Trout - Trout had another great week but the looking...
