The Milwaukee Brewers held its “On Deck” fan festival over the weekend and much like other major league teams throughout the land that put on these kind of winter events, the team was selling hope and looking to recharge its fan base after a long winter and get the fans looking forward to spring training and the long marathon of a season. Among those in attendance was closer John Axford. Axford, an interesting fellow in his own right, accommodated one fan’s unique and interesting request during an autograph session that was among the festival’s, uh, festivities: Brewers fan Kristin Corcoran wanted John Axford to sign her pregnant belly, a request he was more than happy to oblige. @johnaxford Thanks for the autographs & for reassuring that signing my belly wasn’t the strangest request you’ve had! twitter.com/kristnanne19/s… — Kristin Corcoran (@kristnanne19) January 28, 2013 Awesome. And a good call on just signing the shirt as opposed to her actual belly. You know, with stretchmarks and everything. Although that’s assuming she would never bathe again. John Axford is cool and everything, but probably not cool enough to justify the decision to forgo maintaining one’s personal hygiene. But what’s up with John Axford’s reassurance that wasn’t the strangest thing he has ever signed? I can see it now: “Hey look, everyone! John Axford signed my placenta!!” Wait, on second thought, never mind and scratch that visual. I don’t know if I want to know.
