The GM's Perspective:
Dylan Brock, the Milwaukee Brewers 34th round pick of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft from Glendale Community College, has been suspended for 50 games after testing positive for Clomiphene.
According to MiLB.com , Clomiphene "is a synthetic fertility drug that is prescribed to women to induce ovulation. It's been linked to male athletes because it helps block the effects of estrogen and promotes the natural production of testosterone."
As if the Brewers haven't had enough issues with their players disappointing them.
Brock becomes the 55th player in 2013 suspended for violating the Minor League drug program. He's also the second AZL Brewer to get caught. Left-handed pitcher Will West was suspended for 50 games in early August for his second violation.
A two-way player at Glendale, he batted .318 with three home runs and 30 RBI in 54 games. On the mound, he posted a 3.12 ERA in 8 2/3 innings.
Since joining the Rookie Level club, Brock has been strictly a pitcher, and has put together some respectable numbers. Currently 0-1, he has a sparkling 2.84 ERA in 12 2/3 innings. He's only walked two batters while striking out three.
Only time will tell how much he can improve once he returns from suspension. Are his numbers inflated due to the extra boost, or will they get better? Let's chalk this up to an immature mistake.
Hopefully the next time Brock makes news it's because he performing on the field not because of lab created extras.

After bypassing an opportunity to sign with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2012, Hunter Adkins didn't hear his name called during the 2013 draft. That hasn't stopped him from having an impressive professional debut in 2013, however. Donald Moore spoke with the Middle Tennessee alum...
Johnny Hellweg isn't a member of Radiohead...yet. Yet.
(That's just a screenshot of the set, above)
Here's the Johnny Hellweg song. It is a bit long in duration, despite fading it out very, very early! This is track 8 of the Brewers Bar music set. Although it hasn't all been terribly great music, there aren't many blogs with a music set devoted to...
