With 2011 slowly winding to a close, baseball’s offseason has really heated up, most teams are searching for that one move that could put them on the map, or in the case of the Milwaukee Brewers, over the top and into the World Series. Three large moves have been highlights, as well as some smaller moves have been made and all with varying ideas of success. The smaller moves made by the Brewers have been few, but they all have some promise. In Travis Ishikawa’s Minor League deal, they have a low-risk high-reward contract with a man who was once the first baseman of the future for the Giants. Bringing back catcher Mike Rivera for a third stint with the Brewers seems like a move just to give Jonathan Lucroy some rest in spring, so we’ll just wait on that one. Now the next four moves could make or break the upcoming season.
