Minor-league report: Bae drives in five for Indianapolis
Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

A look at Thursday's minor-league action within the Pirates' system ...

INDIANAPOLIS (17-16) beat Louisville, 9-6. On the day when Nick Gonzales  earned the call up to the Pirates, Ji-Hwan Bae delivered a five-RBI night for the Indians.

Bae hit a three-run home run in the third inning, and he batted a two-run single in the sixth.

Andres Alvarez had a two-run double in the fifth. Billy McKinney and Canaan Smith-Njigba each had two hits.

ALTOONA (7-23) lost to Somerset, 7-4. Pitching with a 4-1 lead in the seventh, Curve reliever Grant Ford was charged with three earned runs while not recording an out. Valentin Linarez walked five and allowed three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings of work in relief after Ford.

Dustin Peterson went 2-for-3 with a double for the Curve.

GREENSBORO (16-13) lost both ends of Thursday's double header of seven-inning games at Bowling Green, 6-3 in Game 1 and 8-7 in Game 2.

In Game 1, J.P. Massey surrendered five runs, three earned, on three hits while walking two and striking out four. Mitch Jebb and Maikol Escotto each brought runs home on sacrifice flies. An additional Grasshoppers run scored when Termarr Johnson grounded into a forceout in the third.

In Game 2, the Hot Rods hit three home runs off of Grasshoppers pitching. Reliever Brandan Bidois surrendered a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. Grasshoppers starter Wilbur Dotel allowed six runs and two homers over the course of three innings. Nick Cimillo went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run.

BRADENTON (12-18) beat St. Lucie, 8-3, for its seventh win in a row. The Marauders smacked four home runs, including three in the second inning off of Mets starter Kade Morris. Solomon Maguire and Keiner Delgado hit back-to-back homers in that inning:

Delgado has three home runs in four games within the Pirates organization. The 20-year old infielder was the "player to be named later" in the March 29 trade that sent J.T. Brubaker to the Yankees.

Esmerlyn Valdez hit a three-run home run in that second inning. Omar Alfonzo hit a solo homer in the eighth.
