Jameson Taillon gets the start for Bradenton tonight. His 1.16 WHIP ranks him fourth in the Florida State League, right in between teammates Eliecer Navarro(1.13) and Casey Sadler(1.16). Justin Wilson makes his first start since his no-hitter last Thursday. State College returns tonight from their All-Star break. A full recap of yesterday’s games can be found here.

Taillon has been strong in his last three starts

Triple-A: Indianapolis (74-50) @ Rochester (63-60) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Justin Wilson (9-5 3.88)

Justin Wilson will make his 25th start of the season tonight. It was announced recently that he would be sent to the bullpen, but that was before he threw a no-hitter six days ago. Wilson threw eight innings before the game was called due to rain, allowing just one walk. It was the second no-hitter he was a part of, throwing the first 7.1 innings of a nine inning no-hitter earlier this year. He has pitched a total of 125.1 innings this season, allowing just 83 hits, giving him a .187 BAA. Wilson has 126 strikeouts this year, just two behind the International League leader, Corey Kluber.

Double-A: Altoona (58-62) @ Portland (56-65) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Kris Johnson (1-1 2.84)

Yesterday’s Result: Portland 13 Altoona 2

Kris Johnson will make his seventh start for Altoona and tenth overall start this year.  He also made three starts for Indianapolis, plus he has made a total of 22 relief appearances, six for Altoona. Johnson has pitched a total of 78.1 innings this year, allowing 75 hits, ten homers, 37 walks and he has 59 strikeouts, with a 1.38 GO/AO ratio. As a starter for Altoona, he is 0-1 2.49 with a .229 BAA in 25.1 innings.

High-A: Bradenton (55-65 overall 26-24 2nd half) vs Charlotte (48-68 overall 19-30 2nd half) 6:30pm
Probable starter: Jameson Taillon (6-8 3.83)

Jameson Taillon will make his 23rd start of the season today. He has pitched a total of 120 innings, allowing 103 hits, eight homers, 36 walks, with 95 strikeouts, a 1.04 GO/AO ratio and a .227 BAA. Since the FSL All-Star break, Taillon is 3-2 2.92 in nine starts, albeit with a just 33 strikeouts in 52.1 innings. In his last three starts combined, he has given up just one earned run in 17 innings. Taillon ranks seventh in the FSL in strikeouts.

Low-A: West Virginia (51-70 overall 28-23 2nd half) vs Greensboro (72-49 overall 26-25 2nd half) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Mike Jefferson (4-7 4.85)

Mike Jefferson will make his tenth start of the season tonight. He has also pitched 17 times in relief. On the year, he has pitched a total of 85.1 innings, giving up 86 hits, 11 homers, 34 walks and he has 69 strikeouts. As a starter, he is 3-3 4.74, with a .260 BAA in 35 innings. He has a 6.21 ERA at home and 3.78 on the road. In his last start, Jefferson went five innings, allowing one earned run on five hits and no walks, striking out one batter.

Short Season A: State College (28-26) vs Jamestown (22-30) 7:05pm
Probable Starter: Jason Creasy (0-3 5.06)

Yesterday’s Result: State College was off

Jason Creasy will make his 11th start of the season tonight. He has pitched a total of 42.2 innings, giving up 50 hits, three homers, 12 walks and he has 26 strikeouts. Of the four State College pitchers with ten starts (Clay Holmes, Luis Heredia and Joely Rodriguez) Creasy has the highest ERA, lowest inning total and is the only one with no wins. In his last start, he gave up five runs on seven hits and a walk in three innings. He has a 3.42 ERA at home and 7.11 on the road.
