Jameson Taillon will make his AA debut tonight, on the road in Trenton. Bradenton was off yesterday. They are 1.5 games back in their division, with 13 games left. West Virginia is a 1/2 game out in their division, with 13 games left on the season. Indianapolis has a ten game lead in their division with 14 games left to their schedule.  The GCL Pirates and both DSL affiliates have five games left in their regular season. The GCL Pirates are tied for first place in their division, while the DSL Pirates1 trail in their division by one game. A full recap of yesterday’s games can be found here.

Taillon starts for Altoona tonight

Triple-A: Indianapolis (76-53) @ Syracuse (63-68) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Rick VandenHurk (11-4 3.26)

Rick VandenHurk will make his 17th start for Indianapolis tonight. He has also pitched twice in relief for Indy and made one rehab start while with Bradenton. For Indy, he has pitched a total of 105 innings, allowing 102 hits, eight homers, 32 walks and he has 94 strikeouts, with a 1.14 GO/AO ratio. In his last start, Rick gave up one run on seven hits in eight innings. He is 4-3 3.66 on the road this year and 7-1 2.74 at home.

Double-A: Altoona (60-67) @ Trenton (72-55) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Jameson Taillon (AA debut)

Jameson Taillon will make his first AA start tonight. With Bradenton, he was 6-8 3.82 in 23 starts. In 125 innings, he had a .230 BAA, 1.08 GO/AO ratio and 98 strikeouts. His ERA was 4.52 in 13 starts prior to the FSL All-Star break and 2.98 in ten starts since the break. Jameson ranked sixth in the FSL in strikeouts and his 1.17 WHIP ranked him fourth in the league.

High-A: Bradenton (57-68 overall 28-27 2nd half) @ Ft Myers (25-30 overall 53-69 2nd half) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Casey Sadler (4-5 3.70)

Yesterday’s Result: Bradenton was off

Casey Sadler will make his 15th start of the year tonight. He has also pitched 15 times in relief. On the year, he has pitched a total of 116.2 innings, allowing 110 hits, five homers, 28 walks and he has 86 strikeouts, to go along with a 1.56 GO/AO ratio. As a starter he is 4-3 3.92 in 78 innings. Despite allowing just five homers all year, twice in his last three starts, he has given up two homers in a game. Casey’s 1.18 WHIP ranks fifth in the FSL, trailing former teammate Jameson Taillon(4th) and current Marauder, Eliecer Navarro, who ranks third.

Low-A: West Virginia (55-72 overall 32-25 2nd half) vs Charleston (62-61 overall 23-33 2nd half) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Robby Rowland (8-3 3.31)

Yesterday’s Result:  West Virginia 9 Charleston 2

Robby Rowland will get his 17th start of the year tonight. He has pitched a total of 89.2 innings, giving up 89 hits, seven homers, 21 walks and he has 46 strikeouts, to go along with a 1.75 GO/AO ratio. In his last start, Robby allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks in six innings. His previous outing was a two-hit, six inning appearance. He has yet to strike out more than four batters in a game this year. At home he is 5-1 2.81 in seven starts, holding batters to a .266 average in 41.2 innings, with just six walks.

Short Season A: State College (29-30) @ Auburn (36-24) 7:05pm
Probable Starter: Joely Rodriguez (3-1 3.12)

Yesterday’s Result: Williamsport 6 State College 4

Joely Rodriguez will make his 12th start of the year tonight. On the year, he has pitched 52 innings, allowing 50 hits, one homer, 11 walks and he has 22 strikeouts, with a 1.54 GO/AO ratio. In his last start, Joely allowed two runs on six hits in five innings. His prior start was against today’s opponent, Auburn. In that game, he went four innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk. He is the team leader in innings pitched. Rodriguez has a 1.93 ERA at home this year in five starts and 4.08 on the road.
