AAA: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre fell to the brink of elimination after blowing a multi-run lead for the second straight night with a 3-2 loss to Pawtucket. Ramon Ortiz turned in a solid outing, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits in 6.1 innings, but errors by Kevin Russo and Cole Garner would do damage that the Yankees could not recover from. At the plate, Luke Murton, Cole Garner, and Ramiro Pena had two hits each as they led the offense. RBIs for the night came off the bat of both Garner and Austin Romine. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre now heads “home” down two games to none, and is just one game from being knocked out of the running for the Governor’s Cup.
