With the unknown status of the full extent of Jason Motte’s injury, the St. Louis Cardinals bullpen will be the next unit that is forced to adjust on the run. However, with their closer on the mend, a brand new set of questions will have to be answered in a short amount of time. When it was revealed that Motte is suffering from a mild sprain in his elbow on Saturday, it immediately reshuffled the entire bullpen’s responsibility. While the depth of arms on the roster, and within the organization, has been much hallowed, the role of closer is not one that is easily passed along. Motte became the first pitcher in team history to gather every save on the season for the team, and his 42 saves tied for tops in the National League. And despite only being the technical closer for the team for a year and a half, he remains one of the most indispensable parts of a team that has long looked for a definite lock on the end of games. Finding anybody that can take up a mantle that was absolutely ...

Having Mottrimony Issues? Call Mitchell Boggs, Attorney at SAGNOF

If you're like me, once you finish your fantasy draft, you have a photographer take a picture of you with your team. You pull up your team page on your laptop, and the both of you sit next to a flower bed. The setting is similar to your mother's yearbook picture. The cameraman even uses the filter that blurs out everything around you. As you wait for the makeup person...

Jason Motte injury has all signs of long-term problem

In four years Jason Motte went from a hard-throwing catcher to a pitcher who closed out a World Series championship and became a linchpin in the St. Louis Cardinals bullpen but, as is the case for many closers, now it is his turn to land on the disabled list with arm problems. The Cardinals announced Saturday that Motte has a right elbow strain and will likely start the season on...

The St. Louis Cardinals received some terrible news on Saturday morning. Closer Jason Motte is likely headed to the disabled list to start the season with an elbow strain.
