MLB best bets, strikeout props for Thursday 8/24: End your woes with the O's

A second straight 1-2 day dropped our strikeout prop record to 4-4 on the week, but we still have time to scratch out a profit. Let's get back on track with my three favorite K props for Thursday's MLB slate. 

Kyle Gibson under 4.5 Ks (+118 FanDuel)

Kyle Gibson has been on a strikeout hot streak with five or more Ks in five of his last six starts, but he's also gotten knocked around for 21 hits and 13 earned runs in his last two appearances. This will be the third time the Toronto Blue Jays see Gibson this season, and although they didn't have much success in the first two matchups, I think the third time will be the charm with how many at-bats they already have under their belt. Take the under. 

Pablo Lopez over 6.5 Ks (-110 FD)

Pablo Lopez has been a profit machine in strikeout props this year. The right-hander has gone over 6.5 Ks in 18 of his 25 starts and eight of his 11 starts at home. He's also cleared this number in seven of his last eight starts. The only reason this isn't set at 7.5 is because the Texas Rangers have been the second-best team in MLB against righties, but this lineup has been struggling lately with a .236 batting average and a 27.9 percent strikeout percentage over the last two weeks. I'll take a shot on the discounted price. 

Brandon Williamson over 4.5 Ks (+105 DraftKings)

Brandon Williamson wasn't much of a swing-and-miss pitcher to start the year, but that's completely flipped in August. The Cincinnati Reds starter has racked up 28 strikeouts in four starts this month, and he didn't record fewer than six strikeouts in any of those games. The Arizona Diamondbacks have the third-fewest strikeouts in MLB this season, which is why this prop is set at 4.5, but I'm willing to ride Williamson's hot streak to another over.
