We were one Brandon Williamson strikeout away from a 3-0 sweep Tuesday, but a 2-1 mark gets us back to .500 in strikeout props for the week. Let's keep up the winning ways with my three favorite K props for Wednesday's MLB slate.
The Atlanta Braves have become regulars in the strikeout props column, and for good reason. Atlanta is averaging 6.1 runs per game and striking out at a 17.9 percent rate over the last two weeks, both of which are the second-best marks in MLB. The Braves also have the highest batting average (.292) and OPS (.889) against left-handed pitching this season. Philadelphia Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez has gone over 4.5 Ks in five of his last six starts, but that won't be an easy task against the most dangerous lineup in the league.
We jumped on Connor Phillips' over in his first MLB start earlier this month, and he paid us out with seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched. The Cincinnati Reds rookie did give up two homers and five earned runs, but he should have more success this Wednesday night against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are averaging just 4.0 runs per game over the last two weeks, and they have a 29.5 percent strikeout rate over that span. Expect another flurry of Ks from the talented rookie.
Blake Snell has gone over 6.5 strikeouts in four straight games and seven of his last eight starts, but this is the ideal team to fade him. In three starts against the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, Snell has averaged 6.0 strikeouts per game. The Dodgers are on fire with a league-best .318 batting average and 8.3 runs per game over the last week. They're going to make Snell work on Wednesday night.
