The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have recalled left-handed pitcher T.J. House from Triple-A Columbus. House, 23, has gone a combined 3-8 with a 4.83 ERA in 15 starts between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus this year. His 75 strikeouts (in 87 2/3 innings pitched) are second most among Indians Minor League pitchers in 2013. Over his last eight starts at Triple-A, House’s ERA is 4.56 (49.1IP, 51H, 25ER) and he is currently tied for second in the International League with two complete games. House (No. 40) will be making his debut at the Major League level after spending the last five seasons since 2009 in the Player Development system. He was originally Cleveland’s 16th round selection (501st overall) in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. It is expected that House will join the Indians’ bullpen upon his arrival given the lack of quality left-handed production received over the course of the season. To make room for House, the Tribe has optioned right-handed starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco to Triple-A Columbus. Carrasco is 0-3 with a 7.78 ERA in 4 starts over two stints with Cleveland this season. [Related: Times, they are a-changing: Tribe ticket prices become a hot topic]
