Rick Porcello will enter the arbitration process for the first time in 2012.23 year old Rick Porcello has decided to opt out of his contract with the Detroit Tigers and try his hand at the arbitration process. Porcello is a super two player and stands to receive a considerable raise from the $1.34 million contract he had in place for 2012 before opting out. Porcello was 14-9 with a 4.75 ERA in 31 starts in 2011. The Tigers have control of the Morristown, New Jersey native through 2015.Porcello has started 89 games and thrown 515 innings in his young career and is one of the cogs in the Tigers young rotation led by Justin Verlander.
