Michael Cuddyer could go on sale if Colorado Rockies lose nest series against Los Angeles Dodgers (Jennifer Stewart/Getty Images). The MLB trade rumors in the National League West say that the Colorado Rockies will sell in the final weeks before the trade deadline if they do not win this weekend’s series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports. Baseball Prospectus listed the Rockies with only a 9.5% chance of reaching the division series round of the playoffs before the June 11 game; however, the rejuvenated Dodgers have skyrocketed to a 55.9% chance.  After being swept by the NL West division leader, Arizona Diamondbacks, the Rockies are teetering on the edge of a losing season. Even with the much anticipated return of Dexter Fowler and Troy Tulowitzki, the Rockies seemed unable to stop the crushing momentum of the Dodgers.  Tulo’s reappearance was a rushed effort to inspire the team.  His 0-4 plate performance and throwing  error in the eighth on July 11 indicate that Tulo may not have fully healed from his June 13 injury. Though the NL West division was close in the first half of the season, the Rockies have not been able to capitalize on their potential this year due to injuries.  Colorado currently has Roy Oswalt recovering on the DL, which means the team is down to only four in the rotation at this critical juncture in the season.  A sweep by the Dodgers this weekend could indicate to the Rockies management that it is time to start making moves for next season. The Rockies have persisted in stating that Carlos Gonzalez and Tulo are not for sale, but Michael Cuddyer may be available for the right offer, according to Danny Knobbler of CBS Sports.  Cuddyer’s successful 27-game hitting streak, 15 home runs and a July 10 slash line of .337/.400/.575 make him an appealing option for any ball club shopping for a hitter to add to their roster. The appealing offer the Rockies are hoping for could be a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies for starter Cliff Lee who is currently touting a 2.86 ERA and a 10-3 record.
