RANK TEAM CHANGE SCHEDULE COMMENT 1 +1 vs. DET vs. OAK The Darvish-Verlander duel was a bust, but we still get to see the two best teams in the AL face off and that is more than OK with us. 2 -1 @ LAD vs. MIN We take back what we said about McCann ruining the Gattis fun. How soon we forget how good McCann can be. 3 +2 @ TEX @ CLE The aforementioned Texas series plus a key early season battle for AL Central supremacy against Cleveland makes Detroit our pick for Schedule of the Week. 4 +2 vs. MIL @ SD The Cardinals are just stupid good. Their opponents this week aren't though. 5 -3 @ MIN @ CWS Please stop sullying our TV/computer screens with Felix Doubront. 6 +4 vs. TOR @ BAL Yeah, fine, sure Curtis Granderson is back but let's get to the real story that Vernon Wells got to play second base this week! Whatever you are doing, Joe Girardi, keep on doing it. 7 -3 @ SD @ SF Bryce Harper is very fun to watch right up until the point that he forgets about the existence of walls and they have to scrape bits of his face off of it. 8 +1 @ OAK @ HOU The Royals discovered this week that there is an inverse correlation between their watchability and the playing time of Jeff Francouer and Chris Getz. 9 +2 @ PHI @ NYM The impending return of Johnny Cueto gives the Reds a boost. 10 -3 vs. MIA @ COL With the Braves and Upton gone and the D'Backs headed out to face the Marlins, this is a real letdown week. 11 -3 vs. KC @ TEX Injuries and poor pitching have us on the verge of breaking up with the A's. 12 +5 vs. SEA vs. DET Not only is Justin Masterson pitching his butt off, but now we get the unintentional comedy that is Mark Reynolds playing third base. 13 +3 vs. TB vs. NYY Just try and ignore the pitching staff and focus on Manny Machado and you'll be fine. 14 +4 vs. SF vs. ARI Placing Jeff Francis on the DL is what we call addition by subtraction in the watchability business. 15 -1 @ COL vs. WAS Vogelsong? More like Vogelwrong, amirite? 16 +3 @ ATL @ MIL Getting Greinke back is a fine feast for the eyes, but having Josh Beckett and his sloth-like pace head to the DL is the gravy. 17 -4 vs. HOU vs. CHC With match-ups against the Astros and Cubs this week, we're just going to go ahead and recommend you take a little break from watching the Buccos this week. 18 -3 @ BAL @ TOR Not only did they lost reigning Cy Young winner David Price, but they declined to please the prospect heads by promoting Alex Torres to take his spot instead of Chris Archer or Jake Odorizzi. 19 +2 vs. WAS vs. STL Not only has Andrew Cashner finally given the Pads a starting pitcher that doesn't put us to sleep, but they also now have Alexi Amarista, who is maybe 5'5", cranking homers all over the place. 20 -8 @ STL vs. LAD The Crew is in a pretty serious slide and if they think the return of K-Rod is going to help, then they don't know the Watchability Committee very well. 21 +2 vs. BOS @ ATL All hail Joe Mauer. May his hitting streak never end. 22 +3 @ NYY vs. TB Dickey is looking better and they are crushing the ball again. They are about six weeks late, but this is finally resembling the team we were hoping to watch. 23 -1 @ CLE @ LAA Two of every five games the M's a great to watch with Felix and Iwakuma but the other three days, they are a nightmare with Saunders, Maurer and Harang. 24 -4 @ CHC vs. CIN Let's see, they have a .157 hitter batting cleanup, an Astro reject playing center and the manager is ripping the fans. DOWN YOU GO. 25 -1 vs. CIN @ MIA Aw, crap. Someone broke Cole Hamels again. Also, Delmon Young still exists. 26 +1 @ LAA vs. BOS Chris Sale gets another shot at throwing a perfect game against the Angels. I'm not saying I like his odds but... 27 -1 vs. CWS vs. SEA If you keep watching the Angels waiting for them to play at the high level that their roster talent suggests, then you have no one else to blame but yourself for your blue (base)balls. 28 +1 vs. NYM @ PIT The potential return of Matt Garza is canceled out by the possibility that the Cubs will start using the dreaded six-man rotation. 29 -1 @ PIT vs. KC The Astros are now one Altuve closer to moving into the basement of the Watchability Rankings. 30 -- 0 vs. ARI vs. PHI Just when you thought they couldn't get any less watchable, the Marlins activate Jeff Mathis from the disabled list.
