We Talk Fantasy Sports:
Chicago White Sox
Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles Angels
The National League West did their best during Day 2 of the Winter Meetings, to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers. First the Arizona Diamondbacks traded for Mark Trumbo of the Los Angeles Angels, with the help of the Chicago White Sox. Then the Colorado Rockies acquired Brett Anderson from the Oakland Athletics, a move that seems small, but could prove to be one of the best moves of the offseason. When healthy, Anderson has proven to be a quality pitcher who can get guys out. He is not a big strikeout pitcher but last season while pitching both in relief and as a starter, he managed to strike out 46 batters in 44.2 innings pitched. He now gets to enjoy run support from Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzki, Michael Cuddyer and Justin Morneau, something he has never had in his 73 career starts before. Day 3 should continue to bring tons of rumors and hopefully another move to shake up the league goes down today!
BEST OF MAXIM
Mark Trumbo was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. On Wednesday the slugging outfielder appeared at a party for the Los Angeles Angels Kids Foundation. via reddit Trumbo could simply have blown off the event after the trade but it says something about him that he actually attended. The 27-year-old Trumbo produced a .234/.294/.453 line last eason with 34 home runs and...
Because of the prior relationship between the Los Angeles Angels and Kendrys Morales, it would be easy to assume the Angels would look to him as a possible replacement for Mark Trumbo if the potential three-team deal that's been rumored comes to fruition. However, that one be the case for one very specific reason. The Angels aren't willing to part with any draft picks...

Well, it finally happened, Mark Trumbo was finally traded. I’m not exactly sure what Arizona’s plan is – and I’m not certain they know either – but nonetheless, they landed Trumbo. Fortunately, we’re not forced to care about what their plan is, because from a fantasy perspective it seems like there are more winners than...
Ladies and gentlemen, Mark Trumbo is no longer with us. His time with the Angels has come to an end. We are not here to mourn his loss though, rather we choose to celebrate it. Let us send Mark off by taking a fond look back at his finest work. That, of course, would be re-watching the greatest Trumbombs ever launched. Enjoy, everyone.

On Tuesday afternoon, as baseball’s Winter Meetings rolled on, the inevitable became a reality. With the signing of Scott Kazmir giving the A’s seven viable starting pitcher candidates on the roster, it was clear that somebody had to go. Brett Anderson, with his sketchy medical history and $8 million 2014 guaranteed salary, was that somebody. Sure enough, the A’s sent Anderson...
The Los Angeles Angels have traded slugger Mark Trumbo to the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a 3 team deal. In return the Angels will receive pitchers Tyler Skaggs from the Arizona Diamondbacks and Hector Santiago from the Chicago White Sox. Adam Eaton will be dealt to Chicago. The Diamondbacks will also acquire two prospects. Trumbo will take over in left field and provide protection...
Ah, the winter meetings, a four-day swap meet where the entire baseball industry gets together in one place and…makes a fraction of the transactions they made the week before, when they were all in their respective home cities. In fact, until about an hour ago when I sat down to write this, there had only been one trade consummated in Orlando. It was an interesting one, a three...
It was a busy day for three Major League General Managers, that ended up landing Mark Trumbo in Arizona, Tyler Skaggs and Hector Santiago with the Angels, and Adam Eaton with the White Sox.
Nearly a year to the day that the Arizona Diamondbacks traded away slugging outfielder Justin Upton, GM Kevin Towers has spent the first day of the Winter Meetings pursuing, you guessed it, an outfielder!
In 2013, Arizona actually got a fair amount of value out of their outfielders. Gerardo Parra posted a 4.6 fWAR season, A.J. Pollock checked in at 3.6 fWAR and Cody Ross even...

D’Backs Get Trumbo, Angels Get Steal
The Diamondbacks have acquired slugger Mark Trumbo from the Angels in a three-team deal with the White Sox, first reported by Jon Heyman.
The Angels would send Trumbo and two players to be named later to Arizona, while centerfielder Adam Eaton goes to Chicago, and pitchers Tyler Skaggs and Hector Santiago land in Anaheim.

The Arizona Diamondbacks just acquired some power. According to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports and Ken Rosenthal, the Angels, White Sox, and Diamondbacks have agreed to a three-team trade. Deal agreed upon: Trumbo and 2 prospects to DBacks, Eaton and possibly 1 prospect to White Sox, Santiago and Skaggs to Angels. @foxsports1 — Jon Morosi […]
When Kevin Towers took over the Diamondbacks as general manager, one of the first things he did was make a trade. In Mark Reynolds, he had a 27-year-old entering his first year of arbitration eligibility. The big righty had clear strikeout problems, and he wasn’t known to be an asset anywhere in the field, but what made Reynolds was his power. Strength was his defining characteristic...
