More Strain For A-Rod

For now the injury is not believed to be serious, but A-Rod is scheduled for an MRI later today. Previously this season, Chien-Ming Wang, Mike Mussina, Phil Hughes, and Hideki Matsui all missed extended periods of time with hamstring injuries that the team labeled as "strains." For the sake of the scuttling Bombers, they had better hope that lightening hasn't struck again.

  • UPDATE: According to the AP, A-Rod's strained hammy is fine. He'll be in the lineup tonight, hitting cleanup, and playing third. So that's that.
