Damn the rain and damn the rain delays.

It was like 9 and they were only in the fifth inning, what gives.

Anyway Fausto had a bad game. First one since he made his comeback really. Everyone is entitled to one of those, but man just when we started singing his praises.
"It's a little bit disappointing," Carmona said. "I put some balls on the ground and some of them weren't caught."
Yeah but Fausto should expect that being a ground-ball pitcher. There are days when the balls will find the little openings in the defense. Cabrera and Valbuena are good, but sometimes you can't just get to all of them, there were a few that fit their way past the defense. He still didn't come up big when he had to.

The big test is what he does the next time out. We'll see if he responds with a good bounce back game.

Another good game by the duo that is Andy Marte and Matt LaPorta last night though. Both are up to nine games on their hit-streaks, LaPorta had two including a solo shot and Marte had a hit, a walk, and a sac-fly.

I wrote up a story on Marte's comeback yesterday. You can read that here. Marte talked about his commitment to sticking around this time.

"I worked hard in Columbus to get back here," Marte said. "Now I'm back. Now I'm going to work even harder.

"I don't want to go back to Triple-A. If it's not here, somebody is going to like what I'm doing. I just want to finish strong and see what happens next year."

Good to hear and Eric Wedge used that word when describing what Marte's been doing.. GRINDING. HA.

Too bad LaPorta and Marte didn't get more RBI opportunities, like Luis Valbuena did. He was a big culprit in leaving runners on last night.
"We left some runners on out there today when it was still a close ballgame," said Indians manager Eric Wedge. "I actually felt like we had some decent [at-bats], but we didn't have much to show for it, and then it really got away from us there in the end."
I'll actually agree with that. In the fifth inning, Valbuena hit a ball that probably was hit as well as you can. It was right to Markakis though. Oh well, that happens. Still gotta come through with all the chances they had.

And that will do it..

Not much that wasn't already covered in the Minor Issues. Things are dull in Cleveland.
