So my foot really itches and it's annoying.
I know that was pertinent information about the Indians that you needed to know, so. Yeah.
But look at this.. I downloaded the firefox add on called split screen that splits my windows.. So it makes doing this real easy. I'm feeling energized, YAR!
Can we start with this?
I left it out of the minor league deal because he's a big leaguer now.
J.D. Martin was called up by the Washington Nationals and he'll make his major league debut starting for the Nats against the Mets on Monday. Who's got him throwing like a complete game or something?
Ugh... Good luck J.D.. For those of you who don't know, J.D. spent the last fifteen billion years in the Indians organization, being hampered by injuries mostly. But this past offseason he signed on with Washington and now he's in the majors, fantastic.
On to yesterday's game, sort of.
I'm still pissed at Ichiro, who was even more of a bastard in his response yesterday when he said Gutierrez was more excited about the catch than he was. He also said he didn't think it was a home run because he caught it. What the fizzle stick does that mean?
And Victor just can't buy a break. He got the run off the error earlier, but anything he hits seems to get caught. Even the good swings. He says he's healthy and Wedge also feels comfortable with his lineup, but he isn't enthusiastic about the way they are performing.
"I was hoping for some help from the wind," he said. "I always say when you hit the ball, you can't control where it goes. You just have to put a good swing on the ball."Sound off Wedgester.
"We have to do better offensively, no doubt about it," manager Eric Wedge said. "I believe in these guys and the lineup we're putting out there. But we need to do a better job. We've got to do a better job of taking advantage of pitches when we get them to hit."Good news on the Jake Westbrook front. He threw 50 pitches in a simulated game on Sunday, 20 of them to live hitters, and he'll throw again on Friday. Who knows what happens after that, but I'm sure rehab isn't far off from that session on Friday.
Jake will be pitching Friday, but unfortunately he won't be the starter for Friday's game. That is looking like it will be Jeremy Sowers, who sucked it up in his usual fashion yesterday for Columbus. Friday's rotation spot has Tomo Ohka, but the Indians are likely to make a change.
Why?
Jesus who the hell knows at this point. Nothing ever makes sense.
Why would you call up Fausto Carmona? Let's go down the Jeremy Sowers road again.
You know what.. GOOD.
I'm glad we are calling up Sowers to make this start. Screw it.
Let him fail one more time for the brass to finally realize he CAN'T START AND OR GO PAST THREE TIMES THROUGH THE LINEUP!!!!
Argh..
Speaking of this garbage...
Terry Pluto is ready to make the move.
And you know what, this season is over. So, screw it, let's bench Peralta.
Yeah and while Peralta has been a smidge (just a smidge) better than he was earlier this year, I think it's time to get the look at Marte.ESPN has 83 American League position players whom they consider to be regulars, based on plate appearances. The Indians, meanwhile, love the OPS, which is on-base percentage plus slugging percentage. They believe it gives a true picture of an hitter because it combines reaching base with power.
Of the 83 AL regulars, Peralta ranks ... drum roll, please ... 77th with a .700 OPS.
If you prefer the old-fashioned batting average, Peralta ranks ... 66th at .256.
I began to write that Peralta has been mediocre this season, until I checked on those numbers. He has been worse than that. He has been a tremendous underachiever, just like the Indians.
I'm not ready to ship Peralta off, because we don't really have a replacement at this point in time, and as we saw, it would take the Indians to go out and get one, unless Marte miraculously became awesome or Wes Hodges was able to make the jump.
But if we had a replacement, then I'd certainly be ready.
Let's give Marte a shot. Call him up, bench Peralta. Let him learn he has to stop being a jerk. I'm right on board with Pluto here. Time to give Peralta a reality check.
More salt in the wounds. Grady Sizemore even saw it coming from Franklin. He might just be saying that, but Grady typically doesn't blow smoke.
"It's nothing I didn't expect from Franklin. Playing with him for a while, I saw the talent. You knew he was going to be a good player. It was just a matter of getting him out there every day and getting comfortable with his surroundings and his team."Finally... Here is something about Chris Perez. I'm tired though.
