The Outside Corner:
The Movember MLB Mustach Madness continues. Our next match-up comes takes a look at the star 'stache offerings from current MLB starting pitchers. Who makes our mustache rotation?
To be honest, I didn't like Pavano's mustache before, but it (excuse the pun) grew on me. This bristly offering is an homage to eras gone by, but without forcing the issue like the handlebar mustache does. Plus, anything to draw attention away from the fact that he spent most of his Yankee career on the DL with a butt injury has to be a good thing.
OK, I know, this is supposed to be the best mustaches, but how can we possibly ignore Derek Holland's playoff 'stache. I mean, it is just soooooooo horrible. The temptation is to mock him for looking like a 13-year old going through puberty, but I think this mustache is one that is so bad that it does a complete 180 and becomes strangely awesome.

Free agent lefthander C.J. Wilson said that there's a "great chance" he returns to the Texas Rangers.
"I like it here and I've won here," Wilson told ScoreboardDaily.com. "I've proved that I can be a good pitcher here."
Wilson has helped the Rangers reach the World Series each of the last two seasons and should garner plenty of interest...
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The calendar still has 2011 on it but Texas general manager Jon Daniels is already on 2012 time.
Daniels met with the media Monday and said the best way to get rid of the bitter taste left by the World Series loss to St. Louis is to win the championship next year.
Step one towards that goal will be to bolster the pitching staff in the offseason.
C.J. Wilson is currently the best pitcher on the free agent market, and he could probably use a break after making 39 starts this year. Paul Salfen of Scoreboard Daily caught up with Wilson on Saturday; here are some highlights.
Asked the chances he'll be back with the Rangers next year, Wilson replied, "Yeah, there’s a great chance because I like it here and I’ve...
The Texas Rangers are keeping RHP Yoshinori Tateyama in the bullpen for 2012.
The team had an option on the pitcher as part of his contract from 2011.
"Yoshi stepped up in the bullpen at a time the club really needed it," commented Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels. "He's a veteran strike thrower with outstanding makeup and we're happy to have him back...
The Rangers announced that they exercised their 2012 option for Yoshinori Tateyama (Twitter link).
While the Texas Rangers might have a work do to get to a third consecutive World Series, it appears they are already working to rebuild parts of Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
The team is not confirming anything specific in regards to construction plans, but Chopper 5 showed destruction in Vandergriff Plaza on Tuesday afternoon.
The plaza extends from just past the grassy hill...
Right-hander Tanner Scheppers has struggled with his control so far in Venezuela, but he recorded a perfect inning with two strikeouts on Sunday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Texas Rangers' system.
If history holds, the Twins won't be big spenders when the market opens this week -- a strategy that might be sound, given the hit-or-miss nature of big-money signings.
The Texas Rangers lost right-handerd relief pitcherDarren O'Day to the Baltimore Orioles on a waiver claim Wednesday.
The Orioles have added O'Day to their major-league roster.
O'Day struggled with injuries and inconsistency in 2011 for the Rangers, as hip surgery limited him to 16 games with the team. He missed more than two months in May and June after having surgeryto...
The baseball season is now over. The St. Louis Cardinals are the World Champions. The Texas Rangers are not. On paper, the Rangers looked like the better team. Their offense was second to none in the Major Leagues. Up and down the Texas lineup were guys that hit for average and power. They had speed and on-base guys at the top, and run producers all the way down. Their bullpen offered...
The Rangers solidified the bullpen Monday, exercising the option on right-hander Yoshinori Tateyama.
One of the hardest things about the Phillies' planning for next season is what to do about Ryan Howard.
The slugging first baseman could be back for spring training, he could miss the first month and no matter when he's back he could require more rest than in past years to make sure he's operating at a high level. The easiest way to deal with that problem would be...
Texas is a big state so there needs to be some clarification with being a “Texas Sports Fan”. Let’s just say that about 90% of Texas sports fans are included in this miserable Monday. The Houston Texans and University of Texas fans get a free pass on this one. Everybody else… All aboard this sh$tty, miserable Monday morning train after a total disaster sports weekend…...
